Hearing loss is incredibly common, especially as we age, and is never something anyone should suffer in silence as it can have a hugely detrimental effect on quality of life. If you know or have a feeling your hearing isn't as good as it once was, we would love to see you for a hearing test with one of our skilled audiologists. You don't need a referral, you can book directly with us (see our contact page for how to get in touch).
Our free hearing aid assessments differ from a standard medical hearing test, known as a Puretone Audiogram. During your hearing aid assessment, the Audiologist will take a full health history from you about your hearing and will then complete a hearing test to establish your degree of hearing loss. Following your hearing test the rest of the appointment is used to understand a more holistic view of your lifestyle, environments you might find hearing more challenging and things you enjoy doing. Often our patients find that hearing in noisy environments such as restaurants or family gatherings particularly challenging whereas others might struggle to hear the television at a comfortable level to the rest of their family.
The assessment will then conclude with the Audiologist discussing what they feel is the most suitable corrective action and how they can best enhance your quality of life in your most challenged listening environments.
